This additional campaign comes as a response to all of the requests we have received asking for another opportunity to participate in the making of Shenmue III because either of a lack of payment options on Kickstarter, or just not having a chance to pledge before the campaign ended.

While the full game will be completed as promised with the use of the funding collected on Kickstarter, any additional funding collected here will go towards reaching the Stretch Goals to make the game even bigger and deeper.

At the moment, we are discussing the PC version with the related parties.

Sony and Shibuya Productions have been wonderful partners because they believe in Shenmue and want to see the best for the fans and the game. Their investment in (and support of) Shenmue have helped to realize a sequel that will stand proud with its predecessors. While it is not business practice to discuss the specific details of such arrangements, their assistance on the production and marketing end, and in Sony’s case with some publishing support, Ys Net is able to use more of the money collected through Kickstarter purely for Shenmue 3’s development. It is also important to note that your funds are going strictly to Ys Net for development of Shenmue 3 – Sony and Shibuya Productions are not seeing a cent of your Kickstarter dollars.

The screenshots and images posted are still in the early stages of development, and will continue to be improved.

Currently we are planning development only for PC (Windows) and PS4. Other platforms have not been decided yet. If other platform versions were added as rewards, an announcement would be made on the update page.

SEGA has officially given us the rights to use the "Shenmue 3" license.

The property rights for Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2 belong to SEGA, so we are not in a position to comment on that.

We have received many requests for the original cast to return and understand how important their connection is to the Shenmue community.

Masaya Matsukaze and Corey Marshall will be returning as the voice of Ryo for the Japanese and English versions respectively.

We will let you know through the updates as other parts become finalized.

Shenmue 3 will be available in English and Japanese, and since the Stretch Goals have been reached, German, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish languages will be added as well. We have received many requests to add Chinese among other languages as well. We are hopeful that funding levels will allow for further languages. Should additional languages be added, there will be an announcement made on the Update page.

A rigorous budget and schedule has been worked out with our production team and we believe our target of 2017 holiday season is within reach. That said, our goal is to make the best game possible (and one that the fans want!) so please understand the schedule may change as the project evolves. Frequent updates will be posted on the Update page.
